⚠ Safari Users (Mac, iPhone, and iPad)
While Safari is officially supported by Blackboard, some users may experience issues due to Safari’s strict default privacy settings. These settings can block the third‑party cookies and cross‑site tracking required for:
- Logging in via Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Launching integrated course tools or publisher content
- Viewing embedded videos
- Accessing some Ultra course features

If you must use Safari, update these settings:
Step 1 — Allow Cookies
- Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad or Safari Preferences on Mac.
- Go to Safari → Privacy.
- Make sure:
- Block All Cookies is OFF
- Prevent Cross‑Site Tracking is OFF
Step 2 — Clear Out Old Website Data
- Open Safari’s Settings → Privacy
- Select Manage Website Data
- Remove cached or conflicting data, especially from SSO or LMS pages.
Safari can hold onto stale tokens that break Ultra navigation and SSO redirects.
Step 3 — Disable Extensions

- Your university’s SSO page (QuickLaunch)
These tools often block the scripts Ultra needs to load content.
